The Cedar Ridge Writers Series
proudly presents

Submission Smarts for Writers

Saturday, October 20, 2018 10 AM – 2:30 PM

with author/speaker/editor Lisa Romeo

Hosted by Ryder S. Ziebarth

Send your writing into the world!

Tips, advice, best practices for submitting short creative work (fiction, essays, creative nonfiction, poems, articles) to print and online publications, websites, literary journals, contests.

This workshop will explore what editors want, the pay-off & pitfalls of simultaneous submissions, as well as evaluating contests.

We will offer hands-on practice (bring your computer!) on how to research & identify target venues, create lists, track results, interpret rejections, and what works best at different stages.

For those interested in publishing a book, we’ll cover submission basics for traditional (not self-) publication: query letters, synopsis, proposal; finding an agent, or publishers who take un-agented work.

Be sure to bring your computer when you join us on Saturday, October 20 from 10 AM until 2:30 PM
